X-Lite Large Stick Ends
thingiverse
I adore Mad Mike's low-profile thumb stick for my X9D, and I couldn't resist getting them on my X-Lite too! I kept the basic thumb grip intact but made a few tweaks to prevent bottoming out and ensure they fit perfectly with the XLite screws. I shared both version 6 and 7; the main difference is that version 6 features a center filled with more grip, whereas Mad Mike's original design had a hole all the way through. However, I found that this worked in reverse of my expectations – instead of providing extra grip, it caused my thumbs to slide off. So, I modified the center to be flat in version 7, and now they work flawlessly; my thumbs stay firmly in place without ever slipping, and they don't look like mush the next day either! To get the best results, print at a 0.1mm layer height, as this will help the threads come out looking smoother. Feel free to experiment with different layer heights, but be aware that anything above 0.1mm may make it harder to screw them on. If you find that your thumb sticks are either too loose or too tight (which largely depends on your printer's performance and alignment), simply scale up or down by a fraction or utilize the "Horizontal Compensation" feature in your slicer – just note that different slicers have varying names for this function.
