When lowering my Z-axis, I observed that the nut was protruding from the X-axis injected molded idler end. Unless I pressed down on the end before starting my print, to reset the nut into position, it would cause the first layer not to adhere well. The smaller component fits snugly against the bottom of the nut with its nubs facing upwards, while the larger piece secures it in place. This solution is specifically designed for a Prusa I3 clone featuring injected molded parts. The Z-screw utilized is a 5mm threaded rod.
