After printing my revised design of this, I realized I could add a tensioning adjustment to the belt by changing the hole that the idler screw goes through to be open on one end. This allows the idler pulley to slide along the x-axis, tightening or loosening the belt as needed. To learn more about the original design, visit http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:866648. This modification is likely to work for both the 8-inch and 12-inch versions of this part. I noticed that the eccentric spacer holes are countersunk, so you don't need a washer where the lock nut attaches. However, I personally prefer to add a washer between the locknut and the plastic for extra security. When connecting to the Z-axis threaded rod, consider using http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:795954 instead of the original wooden part. If you stick with the wooden part, be prepared to do some filing on the rectangle hole to get a good fit. Additionally, I found that the wooden part was a rather tight fit next to the top wheel nut. Instructions: To print this design, use either i3v_X-IdlerMount_3Wheel_WithEars_rev11_repaired.stl or i3v_X-IdlerMount_3Wheel_NoEars_rev11_repaired.stl. You'll also need X-IdlerPulleyParts_rev5_repaired.stl, which replaces the wooden idler parts and allows for tensioning or loosening of the belt. I've modified the openscad file to add a couple of cones, allowing the plastic to cool on the dovetail joint during printing. You can edit this file if you don't need these added features. To assemble the two idler pulley parts, see the photo provided for guidance. When printing, remove any extra plastic from the wheel holes by hand-turning a 5/16-inch bit for the eccentric countersunk holes and a 3/16-inch bit for the M5 bolts that attach to the wheels. Consider also printing http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:795954 to connect to the Z-axis threaded rod instead of using the original wooden part. I'm not sure how well the stock wooden part will fit with this plastic version.
