This redesigned X-axis idler by kludgineer employs 180-degree bushings to eliminate Z-axis binding issues. To create these bushings, use a 1/4" PTFE-filled delrin rod (e.g., http://www.mcmaster.com/#8579K12). Follow the steps below for assembly: 1. Print the idler part. 2. Print and attach the clamp from the parent file. 3. Drill the holes for the delrin rods with a 1/4" bit. 4. Cut four rods to the appropriate length. 5. Insert rods into the predrilled holes. 6. Test fit the assembly with a 10mm smooth rod. If it's too tight, carefully trim the edges of the delrin rods with a knife.
