X-Carve Dust shoe for Dewalt 611 spindle
prusaprinters

This remixed dust shoe is designed to work with the Inventables Spindle Carriage, P/N 80033 for the Dewalt 611. The upper dust shoe and support arms now contain slots for nuts (both square and hex). This should allow for detach/re-attachment without "wearing out" the plastic. The vac hose adapter is the only part that hasn't been redesigned. It's designed for a standard 2.25" shop vac hose.

Hardware Needed:
2x M5x18 SHCS to attach left support arm to upper dust shoe
1x M5x10 (back) & 1x M5x20 (front) SHCS to attach right support arm to upper dust shoe
4x M5 low-profile square nut to insert into support arms ( https://www.mcmaster.com/97259a103 )

4x M5x12 SHCS to attach vacuum adapter to upper dust shoe
4x M5 hex nut to insert into upper dust shoe ( https://www.mcmaster.com/90710a037 )

3x M4x12 SHCS to attach left arm to spindle mount
12x 10mm x 3mm high strength magnets
Brush Bristle Strip (I bought mine from amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01566L3HQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
5x M3x10 SHCS to attach Brush strip to lower dust shoe.

This is a pretty self-explanatory build.

1) Superglue (or other appropriate adhesive) the magnets into the pockets on the lower and upper dust shoes. Take care to get the polarity right so they stick together the parts rather than repel them!
2) punch holes in the brush strip then screw it on to the lower dust shoe. I ended up punching the holes towards the lower area of the canvas 'binding', this makes sure the bristles don't extend too far down past the endmill.
3) assemble the upper dust shoe.
4) it'll snap onto the spindle carriage if you are careful. Then bolt in place.
5) attach your shop vac and start carving!

Print instructions

The 3mf file should include settings. The more "structural" parts got a bump in infill and perimeters. The project file it set for PETG, but for this application , PLA should work as well.
