X-Carve Dust Rails Sides/Front/Back
thingiverse
This remake is a fresh take on some outstanding design work found at Inventables, specifically the projects titled "MWP Y-Axis Braces" and "MWP Y-Axis Belt Dust Guards." Unfortunately, no source files were provided, making modifications quite challenging. As a result, I remade it from scratch and streamlined the materials needed. If you have access to a large enough laser cutter, these components can be cut as one piece. I modified the holes to accommodate M3 hardware and added slots for easy adjustment of the side rails, allowing them to move up/down or flush against the wasteboard. I also created a front/rear variant that enables the use of the same braces to secure it in place. To manufacture these components, you will need: * 0.25" thick 6061 aluminum sheet to mill out nine or twelve pieces of stiffeners. * 0.125" thick acrylic sheet for milling or laser cutting the side plates and front/rear plate. * Fifty-four M3-10mm bolts * Thirty-six M3 drop-in extrusion nuts in size 2020 * Eighteen M3 regular nuts
