X Carriage Mod for 3/8" Rod and Bearing for HyperCube 3D Printer

Human: Modify the diameter of parts associated with 9.525mm anodized aluminum tube to be the 10mm (0.394") tube/rod dimension. 9.525mm anodized aluminum tube is difficult to find in the US. 10mm parts are available from at least these sources. Tube (come in 6 foot): https://www.mcmaster.com/#catalog/122/3705/=15ddz7c Rod not anodized comes in 3 foot: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Steelworks-3-ft-x-10mm-Aluminum-Metal-Round/3053651 Bearing: (IDxODxLength is 10"x12.7"x25.4") https://www.mcmaster.com/#9368t22/=15g722l https://www.mcmaster.com/#1688k13/=15g763j (Note. McMaster will quote you shipping after you placed an order and in my case, $14 for the tube and $4 for the four bearing but I ordered separately) You will need to print 2 of each STL files. Two of 360mm rod/tube and 4 bearing. These will replace the original X carriage parts related to to 10mm rod (XY_Joiner and Dual_bushing_holder). I am in the middle of a build also so although I am confident these changes are good but I can't be 100% sure. Let me know if you spot my mistakes. [Update Dec-8-2016] Tested the design and the combined X carriage is not gliding down smooth. I will make changes to the design so don't print these files just yet. Sorry to come up with premature design but my parts are finally coming in so that I can begin testing. {Update Dec-9-2016} Adjusted the distance for the two rods on XY_Joiner and widen the dual bushing somewhat. The gliding is smooth now. I think the gliding will never be as frictionless as using LM8UU bearings. But that's not the point in the original HyperCube design anyway. The X Carriage now slides with consistent friction, without binding and much quieter than LM8UU bearing. In the photo, you will notice I used 4 bearing because I found using only 3, the friction is less and I detect no play. [Update Dec-18-2016] Added XY_Joiner_for38_V1.1.stl for single LM8UU bearing option. See Tech2C's Hypercube 3D Printer Build Log #14 for explanation. This correspond to XY_Joiner_V1.1 but modified for 10mm rod. You also need to print XY_Clamp_V1.1 in the thingiverse Hypecube 3D Printer's page for the opposite side of the single bearing.
