X carriage for J head Hotend with inductive proximity sensor E3D / Hexagon
thingiverse
I wanted to design an inductive proximity sensor installation that could be easily integrated into my 3D printer's hotend for automatic bed leveling. This is the concept I came up with. The sensor is carefully positioned directly behind the hotend, ensuring precise alignment and minimizing any potential interference. Measuring exactly 20.575mm, the Y offset from the center of the J-head nozzle to the center of the proximity sensor is precisely calibrated for optimal performance. Additionally, an end clamp has been incorporated into the design to accommodate a 25x25mm fan, specifically designed for the Hexagon all-metal hotend. Although it may also work with other hotends, users will need to attach the fan using glue due to limited space constraints. Future revisions might address this issue by incorporating screw holes.
