X-Carriage EVO
thingiverse
This is X-Carriage EVO, a custom carriage I designed for my FLSUN i3 to meet all of my requirements. It features a direct drive extruder, a mount for an SN08-n inductive sensor, a 5015 blower style fan, and an integrated belt tightener. The design was heavily inspired by lembasbrot's 3-wheel X carriage. Here is the bill of materials: - Printed parts - 5015 blower fan - 40mm fan - E3DV6 hotend - Two M4x25 screws - Two longer M4 screws - Two square nuts - Various types of M3 hardware (most came with the FLSUN i3) - Ten to twelve Ø5x5mm M3 brass inserts (these can be found online for a low cost) - Three 2020 wheels - 608 bearing - Stock FLSUN Ø8mm drive gear - Stock FLSUN endstop microswitch - NEMA17 stepper motor - Extruder spring - A piece of teflon tube First, insert the teflon tube from the top into the hotend. Then, use a knife or scissors to cut it off at the motor gear. Next, carefully insert the brass inserts with a soldering iron into the printed parts. Be cautious not to set the iron too high, as PLA melts easily.
