X-Belt Tensioner Anet A8
prusaprinters

This is a simple x-belt tensioner for the Anet A8 printer.
I wanted a x-belt tensioner that fulfils following criteria:

G2 geared tooth pulley should fit (the last tensioner I used was too small to accommodate the geared pulleys)

pulley should be on the left side of the lead screw, because that design is more stable and needs less G2 timing belt

it should be easy to fasten without special tools -> the 3D printed wingnut does a great job

it should be easy to print - especially the fastening screw is so crude that it can be printed with a printer that is not very calibrated yet

it should be stable, simple and robust
I have tried 2 other designs before but they did not quite meet my needs and so I came up with this version. Till now it behaves great and I am quite happy with that design.

Credit goes to thingiverse user mike_mattala for his great screw and nut library I used in this project: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:193647

Print instructions

Category: 3D Printer Parts Summary
