V2 stands as a superior solution, precision-crafted to optimize belt path compatibility. Notorious issues with the original version surfaced when the belt repeatedly chewed through it, prompting a design overhaul. Moreover, I elected not to utilize the backing plate in V2's implementation. Drawing from thinkyhead's reworked tensioner http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:554719, specifically tailored for the Geeetech i3 printer, which inherently lacks any means of adjustments. This modified version reduces the tensioner's dimensions while increasing its width. Accompanying these alterations are end tabs and protrusions that provide additional security during the backing plate's placement on the axis mount. The ball bearings, screws, and nuts found in the stock configuration remain unchanged. Conversely, V2 necessitates an added nylock nut and square nut, neither of which feature in the standard design setup. Key to this revised system are straightforward assembly guidelines that facilitate seamless installation. Step one involves mounting the backing plate on the original long screw via a newly included m3 nylock nut, with attention given to leave this nut somewhat loose to accommodate free turning. Its principal function is to stably secure the screw in place within the backing plate. Moving forward, install an additional m3 square nut inside the tensioner itself and employ sufficient force to sufficiently lower it for optimal performance.
