I have marked this design as "work in progress" since it is still under testing, any user printing this model please provide feedback. Reviewing my options for x-axis belt clamps and tension revealed that none of the existing designs suited my needs; I didn't want to dismantle part of the printer to add a tensioner and clip style tensioners don't offer the same level of adjustment. So I designed my own, which both clamps the belt and allows you to adjust the tension. Fitting Instructions: Attach the first block loosely to the carriage using an appropriate length of screw, with the belt fitted into place. Insert the belt into the second block, taking up as much slack as possible without making it difficult to fit. Leave the cross screws slightly loose for movement. Once the blocks and belt are in place, hand tighten the bolt between them, squeezing the blocks together while tightening as far as you can. I recommend finding a guide on determining the optimal belt tension. Tighten the four cross screws once your belt is adjusted, and happy printing will ensue. Note: Fitting the belt can be awkward. Note 2: You may need to adjust your x-axis limit switch so it doesn't catch on the tensioner block. Print Settings: Printer: Anet A8 Rafts: No Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 100% Notes: I used 100% infill for added strength, as I thought lower infill wouldn't provide a significant time advantage.
