README X-axis Bearing Supported Motor Mount Works seamlessly with Prusa MK2:MK3S models Requires one 625Z bearing, two M3x25mm bolts, and two M3 nylon locking nuts Nylon locking nuts apply pressure to the OEM X-Carriage and secure the bearing in place Longer bolts replace factory bolts - find them in your spare parts collection This design is an original creation for most Original Prusa 3D printers Inspired by (https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-prusa-mk3-bearing-supported-y-motor-holder-82309) After successfully printing with Y-axis and Z-axis bearing supported mounts, I decided to improve the X-axis too There's a significant design flaw in all Original Prusa 3D printers - the X, Y, and Z NEMA 17 motors are belt driven While this is great for some aspects, it causes unnecessary wear on the motors, belts, and calibration issues due to lack of support or securing the axle shaft end except by the belt Achieving 'Perfect' Perpendicular Calibration with 0° error is impossible without bearing supports, proper belt tension, and high-quality assembly craftsmanship After achieving 0° error with Y-axis, I wanted to improve the X-axis too Printing over 1.5km of filament within a year took its toll on my printer - I had to restore worn MK3S components after pushing the printer hard within the first year of owning it Goals: Reduce X-axis motor wear (axle shaft) Replace OEM Mount with one that uses M3x30mm instead of M3x18mm Mount sits flush onto OEM X-Axis MK2:MK3s for easy installation Press-fit bearing ensures a smooth install without disturbing original calibration Improve X-axis, Y-axis, Z-axis calibration by at least 1° to achieve 0° error Reduce Layer Shifting and Vibrations without the need for dampeners Print Settings: PETG Three Perimeters Thirty percent Internal Infill (GRID) Four Bottom Layers (Rectilinear) Five Top Layers (Rectangular) No supports No raft
