X and Y Axis Covers for the Anycubic Vyper
prusaprinters

Description

Simple dust/debris covers designed to fit the belt tensioner on the Anycubic Vyper 3D printer.

Print was designed to press fit into the existing slots to give the printer a slightly sleeker look while preventing dust and debris to clog the axis belt gear.

Print Instructions

FOR THE NO INLAY VERSION

A smaller layer height will result in a better looking final product. These are small items so the print will be quick no matter what. Print letter side down so no supports will be needed.

FOR THE INLAY VERSION

If your printer has the ability to print multiple colors or you know a way to print the inlay into the design I have uploaded the files for you to do so. There is a version of each file with a ‘locating circle’ that you should be able to use to line the two parts up perfectly in your slicer if you're not able to do so otherwise. This locating circle is so small your slicer should ignore it when slicing if you have told it to ignore thin walls.

I did this inlay by printing the inlay in one file, followed by printing the second file over the top using the z-hop setting in Cura. I used a method similar to the one covered by CHEP in the video below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Sla-vIsvh4

The inlay is designed to be 0.4mm thick. As a result you should print this using either a 0.1mm or 0.2mm layer height. This will result in the inlay being exactly four layers thick at a 0.1mm layer height or two layers thick at a 0.2mm layer height.

Assembly

Print the covers and plop them in the existing slots on each axis. Depending on your printer setup the fit should be just tight enough to stay in place while still being easy to remove.

Attribution

Please print and re-mix this model as much as you want. Please do not use this model for commercial use.
