X-Acto Pencil Sharpener Alignment Tool
prusaprinters

I bought an X-ACTO School Pro Classroom Electric Pencil Sharpener. It's inexpensive for what it is and sharpens pencils quickly. However, it has a pretty bad flaw: there are 6 different holes to align pencils with the sharpener blades, but they're so thin that you can still insert the pencil at a wildly incorrect angle and potentially break the tip clean off or sharpen very unevenly. Due to the design of the sharpener, the correct insertion angle is not obvious either: it's not parallel with the ground, nor is it parallel with any lines on the device.

I designed a much longer alignment tool that fits into the biggest pencil hole and braces itself against the face of the sharpener. I've found this works really well. Included are 3 different sizes, matching pretty much every pencil I found around the house.

If you want to remix, source here:
https://cad.onshape.com/documents/afd573ef3fac888e4bebe2d5/w/23b0d74a9aa3378dab14c323/e/b5b6a7d8744228bcf93fbd43

Print instructions

Category: Office Summary

I bought an X-ACTO School Pro Classroom Electric Pencil Sharpener.
