In a BSc paper, "CFD investigation of a fin keel," Jakob Heide and Patrik Lans employed X-99 class rules to compare NACA64 and NACA65 keels. The former offers slightly higher lift coefficients but also increased drag. The study's DXF support, based on 6 cross sections from a 3D model, enables creation of templates for laser/water cutting to optimize keel design.
