Detailed, textured 3D models are available for the X-45A, showcasing complex designs with precision. Textures include diffuse and specular elements, each measuring up to 4096 pixels in dimension. Photoshop template files can be downloaded alongside the product, allowing users to customize layered textures according to their preferences. The X-45A was a scaled-down prototype developed by the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency and the U.S. Air Force to test advanced technologies for unmanned combat air vehicles. The project aimed to demonstrate capabilities necessary for suppression of enemy air defense missions using autonomous aircraft. In 2000, "Phantom Works" successfully completed the first X-45A UCAV, leveraging research from its manned Bird of Prey aircraft. Following extensive ground testing, the initial X-45A took flight on May 22, 2002 at Edwards Air Force Base in California, with a second vehicle following in November. Throughout its test program, the X-45A achieved several historic milestones. On April 18, 2004, it successfully struck a ground target using a precision-guided, inert weapon released from its internal bay. One month later, on August 1, 2004, a pilot-operator remotely controlled two X-45As in flight simultaneously for the first time.
