X-29
thingiverse
The X-29 was designed by NASA and USAF to push forward-swept wing technology and high-stiffness composite wing construction, along with fly-by-wire systems the wings demanded. The aircraft's forward fuselage design borrowed from the Northrop F-5 model, allowing me to modify this base from an existing F-5 template.\r\n\r\nSince I aimed for a 1:144 scale model, the wings had to be incredibly thin, resulting in flat surfaces. A .f3d model is included for those who want to add more realism by lofting out the wing cross-section for larger scale models where this extra effort would be worthwhile.
