I recently acquired several Wyze Sense door sensors and was eager to add one to my garage door. The challenge arose when the steel cable running along the side of the door kept knocking off the smaller sensor component. To resolve this issue, I designed a compact housing that incorporates a rounded edge allowing the cable to roll smoothly over it without dislodging the sensor. This solution has proven effective, as both components are now securely attached to the garage door and wall using glue. The cable glides effortlessly over the housing, maintaining its position without any interference. However, I acknowledge that these housings provide a very snug fit for the sensors, making removal a delicate process. In the future, I intend to refine the design to facilitate easier sensor replacement.
