Wyze Sash Hanger

Wyze Sash Hanger

I was looking for a way to temporarily mount my Wyze camera, and after experimenting with various options, I discovered that placing it on top of the window sash yielded excellent results, while positioning it on the sill resulted in a poor view due to the window frame obstructing the shot. Frustrated by the lack of suitable solutions for my older house with thick double-hung windows and storm windows outside, I decided to create a custom sash hanger based on a printer mount design. This innovative solution "catches" the interior sill and suspends the camera in a way that avoids the screen obstruction. The only drawback is that different window sashes have varying thickness, which may require additional support from carpet or mounting tape to keep it secure. Despite this minor inconvenience, I'm happy with the outcome and thought others might benefit from sharing my DIY solution. To use the mount, simply attach it to the sill, slide the camera base into the catcher, adjust its position, and set the viewer to rotate the camera 180 degrees for optimal viewing. I also added a slot to the slide-in section, allowing users to secure the camera with a zip-tie or screw, or even utilize the magnet at the bottom. For now, I'm opting for the simplicity of gravity, but this feature provides flexibility and convenience.
