Wyze Pan Cam Mount

Wyze Pan Cam Mount

The first Wyze Cam featured a magnetic base and a metal mounting plate, but newer models like the Pan Cam have moved away from this design. In its place, the Pan Cam boasts a 1/4-20 thread that allows it to be mounted on a camera tripod. However, this setup isn't particularly practical. To address this issue, I created a custom mount using SolidWorks. This innovative design enables the camera to be positioned in multiple ways, including right side up, upside down, or even at a 90-degree angle to a wall. A single screw located at the center allows for radial orientation adjustments before tightening down. Users can let their imagination run wild while being mindful of the dove tail design's potential to fall out and damage the camera. To provide an added layer of security, I incorporated a #8-32 thread on the surface mount piece, allowing users to secure it with a machine screw if desired. This two-piece construction consists of a "Wall Mount" that can be screwed into place using a drywall screw or similar flat head, and a "Pan Cam Adapter" that requires a 1/4-20 x 1/2" long flat head screw for camera attachment. To make things easier, I've included an STL file featuring both pieces as they were designed. My initial print was created on a Markforged Mark II using Onyx (nylon with chopped carbon fiber) at 0.125 layer height. However, I plan to print the next one on a Prusa at 0.2 layer height using transparent clear PLA.
