Wyze Cam v2 Slim Replacement Housing
thingiverse
This is a highly compact replacement housing for the Wyze Cam v2. For size comparisons, view the photos in the gallery.\r\n\r\n**Please note that your Wyze Cam v2 must be modified by desoldering the USB-A port from its back and removing the speaker to fit this slim case as-is. If you'd prefer to keep these features, feel free to modify my design by redesigning the back panel to accommodate them. I removed the USB-A port and speaker because they restricted my ability to slim down the case**\r\n\r\nThe main goal behind this design is that I've been working on creating a bird's nest camera connected to the internet. I initially started with a Raspberry Pi Zero and IR LEDs, but encountered heat issues. I decided to purchase a refurbished Wyze Cam v2 from Microcenter because of its small size and ability to use RTSP. After taking it apart, I realized that the case could be significantly smaller with some modifications (i.e. removing the speaker and USB-A port). \r\n\r\nThis design can work in its current form, but I plan on making additional changes to allow for mounting.
