WWI Tank Puzzle
thingiverse
Something new emerges from something old! A woodcarving puzzle gets reborn as a 3D-Printed Puzzle, straight from the March 1933 issue of Popular Mechanics. I actually created CAD models for the puzzle before carving it out of wood years ago because the pattern wasn't very precise, so when I got my hands on a 3D printer, this was the first thing I printed. This puzzle is made up of 18 individual pieces in total. Since it's pretty small, they all fit on the bed at once. I designed the model to have a fairly loose fit, making it easy to take apart and reassemble. You can find the assembly instructions in the magazine article, which is available on Google Books.
