The P-51D Mustang is an American fighter from 1940 and was dismissed from duty in 1986. The Supermarine Spitfire is one of the best WW2 fighters to originate from the UK. The Polikarpov I-16, a Russian single seat fighter, earned its nickname "donkey" due to its unique shape. The Yak-3, also a Russian fighter, was introduced in 1944. The Junkers JU-87 Stuka is a German diving bomber and very important WW2 warplane. The F4U Corsair, a US marine fighter, was introduced in 1942. The P-38 Lightning is a two-engine single-seat fast American interceptor. The Mitsubishi A6M Zero is the Japanese navy's top-of-the-line fighter from 1940. The PZL.11 is a Polish open cockpit light fighter from the 1930s.
