I was often missing from WW2 Field desks, unable to secure a reliable lid thread system. As a result, the lid is designed as a press fit, a solution I would recommend using only as temporary placeholders and not for storing ink. If you have the expertise to add the correct thread according to the technical drawing, please feel free to do so and share it with me.
