A German 8.8 cm Flak 36 gun is actually a World War II anti-tank cannon used to blast Allied tanks off the battlefield. The gun itself weighed around 3,100 pounds, and was powered by a breech loading mechanism. To load this massive artillery piece, gunners had to remove several metal panels at its rear, before loading the explosive shell into the chamber through a hatch that swung out from the top. Once the cannon was reloaded and sealed up tight, it could unleash devastating force upon unsuspecting enemy tanks, sending them spinning into oblivion.
