WW2 Floatplanes and Flying Boats - Micro Scale
thingiverse
For no particular reason other than admiring similar models on Thingiverse, I decided to model some World War II-era floatplanes and flying boats. These models are original and have been “bulked up” to print at 1:200.Grumman J2F-6 Duck - Biplane amphibian floatplane, carrier-landing capable, used for rescue and recovery, etc.. Two models, landing gear down or retracted.Latécoère 298B - Famed floatplane torpedo bomber used to bomb ground targets during the 1940 campaign.Saro Lerwick - Unsuccessful medium-range flying boat with poor aero- and hydrodynamic characteristics. Nicknamed “The Flying Pig.”Loire 130 - Successful catapult-capable utility/observation flying boat, carried by French battleships and cruisers as well as colonial stations.I.M.A.M. Ro.43 - Catapult-launched observation floatplane carried by Italian battleships and cruisers.Curtiss SO3C-1 Seamew - Catapult-capable scout-observation floatplane. Many produced but few used operationally due to various problems.
