Its construction began back in May 1997 and officially opened on September 8, 2000 as a masterpiece designed by the Central Railway Bridge Survey and Design Institute at a cost of a total investment of 1.1 billion yuan, the impressive structure stretches 3589 meters from start to finish, with an astonishing width of 26.5 meters that comfortably allows for 6 lanes of traffic flowing smoothly, boasting an impressive design speed of 80 kilometers per hour with an average daily traffic capacity of an incredible 50,000 vehicles and surprisingly enough only 29% are forced to divert through the Chinese vehicle shunt field in the area, this colossal undertaking is without a doubt an extremely vital cross-river project connecting 88 kilometers within the ring around Wuhan.
