The Magic Cube (sometimes also referred to as the Rubik's Cube, Rubik's Puzzle in English-speaking countries) is a rotational puzzle invented by Hungarian engineer and architect Ernő Rubik in 1974 and awarded the Special Prize Best Solitaire Game of the Critic's Prize Game of the Year in 1980. It gained especially great popularity at the beginning of the 1980s.
