WSU Sample A-6

The exact location where this sample was collected remains a mystery, yet it's clear that it's either a type of granodiorite or quartz monzonite, depending on how much quartz is present. Both whitish plagioclase and pale-pinkish potassium feldspar are visible, along with larger phenocrysts of k-spar scattered throughout the sample. Pale grayish quartz also makes an appearance, although it might not be in sufficient quantities to classify this as a full-fledged granodiorite. This particular sample is dominated by tabular hornblende and platy biotite, two primary mafic minerals that are easily identifiable.
