WRX Grill Badge Mount

WRX Grill Badge Mount

For my son's 2006 Subaru WRX, he needed to install a new badge on the front grill. To accomplish this, a clamp that fits snugly into the front grill mesh was required. The mesh is made of coated steel. Here is my 3D printed solution. To keep the screw mount compact, I shortened an 8g x 12mm self-tapping screw by cutting off a length to make the threaded area 7mm long. There are two 3D printed parts: a top section and a bottom section. The bottom section is bonded to the back of the new badge (a CS9 Club Spec badge, see my other 3D print on this site) using epoxy resin glue. All the 3D prints were made in PETG for enhanced weathering durability and color stability. My print was created with PETG 1.75mm 3DFillies black filament, a layer height of 0.2mm, and 100% infill on a PRUSA I3 MK3S printer. I hope you find this print useful too.
