These brackets are designed specifically for use with 1-inch dowels and half-inch dowels. The brackets showcased in the accompanying photos were printed by Shapeways using a robust Strong & Flexible plastic material. In contrast, I once had brackets printed with regular PLA, which unfortunately became brittle and prone to breakage over time. I now firmly believe that PLA/PHA filament is an excellent substitute for Strong & Flexible plastic. I constructed three tables utilizing these brackets approximately four years ago. Each table has been in constant use since then without any issues. Two of the tables are currently holding lamps, while one table has successfully supported my 22.5-inch television for a period of three years now.
