Wristband Wheel

Wristband Wheel

thingiverse

A robot wheel created for a "cause of the week" wristband is available at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:21486, generated using the Highly Configurable Wheel (One Wheel To Rule Them All). AUGuru gets credit for the idea of utilizing wristbands as tires due to their great traction. Modify settings in OpenSCAD's original file to adjust wheel size and design. The wheel features a 68mm diameter, six-spoke diamond pattern with concavity and "slots" option for tread, designed for a 4mm motor shaft and 3mm set screw. Print quality may vary, but tire grip is excellent. To install, stretch the wristband around the wheel as a tire, and mount it on your robot. Prepare to run fast since one-wheeled robots can be formidable. The provided wheel has 3.38m of 3mm filament with two perimeters, solid layers, and 20% honeycomb infill.
