Wrist Splint
thingiverse
I've printed and broken several of the original Wrist Brace designs, but I wanted to make some significant changes that scaling wouldn't allow. So I decided to take a bold step and create my own design from scratch using openScad. Here it is - not perfect, but it shows you what's possible with lots of hulls and a bit of creativity. Just push the cylinders around to modify the shapes and see how they respond. I discovered that I only needed two sets of straps: one fixed elastic strap and another neoprene and velcro one. These worked much better than the original design, which required multiple straps to stay in place. To get the hex holes just right, I had to use Slic3r with hex fill and no top or bottom layers. This gave me a clean and precise finish that looked great on my wrist brace.
