Wrist pad for ErgoDox Inifinity keyboard
thingiverse
This is a wristpad I designed specifically for my ErgoDox Infinity keyboard kit. Only one model, an STL file, is provided, which will fit perfectly on the right side of the ErgoDox keyboard. To print a corresponding left side, you should use your host or slicer software to rotate the model 180 degrees around the y-axis, or alternatively mirror it along the x-axis. I recommend printing this model in its normal orientation, ensuring that the bottom surface contacts the print bed. Depending on your printer's quality and layer height, printing the pad at another orientation may make it difficult to adhere rubber feet to the pad without using a strong adhesive (see Post-Printing instructions). The provided 3D model will probably work with other models of ErgoDox keyboards, such as the ErgoDox EZ, but I have not tested this assumption. If the fit is not right for your model of ErgoDox, let me know the problem and I can make the design work in the Customizer. It would be most helpful if you could provide an image showing how the model and your keyboard fail to fit together properly. Print Settings Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: TAZ 5 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 10% Post-Printing Finishing I find the feeling of a freshly printed top surface on my palms/wrists to be uncomfortable and distracting, so I would recommend some form of smoothing using either sandpaper, acetone, or smoothing epoxy like XTC-3D. Finally, put some rubber feet on the bottom side to keep the wrist pads from sliding around on you. The design is meant to account for height added by rubber feet. If you decide not to use rubber feet, you may find that the height of the model doesn't feel quite right. If rubber feet do not stick well to the bottom of the wrist pad, super glue or another strong bonding adhesive may be used to ensure the feet stay in place. If no rubber feet are available, you can cut rubber bands into strips and use adhesive to add no-slip rubber strips to the bottom of the wrist pads.
