Wrist Guard
thingiverse
I'm stuck on crutches for 12 weeks, which is a real bummer. On the bright side, it's given me ample time to hone my 3D modeling and 3D printing skills. The standard issue UK crutches are pretty uncomfortable and tend to dig into your forearm. I designed these simple wrist guards to provide more support to your forearm and wrist while walking around. They make a noticeable difference in terms of comfort. Ideally, the flat surface would be curved for maximum comfort, but that would also make it a pain to print, so it remains flat as is. I made it thin enough to bend into a curve for added comfort, with bracing on the back to prevent it from breaking. There are two holes in one of the support mounts in case you want to secure them with wires - I didn't bother and had no issues. I did manage to break one when I dropped the crutch, but they're easy enough to reprint if needed. Mine were printed in PETG, which is all I have on hand, but I'm sure they'd work just as well in ABS or PLA too.
