Wrist brace
thingiverse
This is a 3D printable wrist brace, designed with the goal of supplying Health Posts in Nepal with essential equipment following the devastating earthquake. The design has been co-created with numerous medical professionals in Nepal who provided invaluable input. The design is printed flat and then thermoformed to fit each patient's unique wrist shape. Printing should be done exclusively in PLA without using any support materials. To mold the wrist brace into place, submerge it in hot water to soften the PLA, quickly remove excess water with a towel or equivalent tool, and then form the wrist brace to the patient's wrist. Print Settings Printer: UP! Box Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: Less than 0.25mm Infill: Solid Notes: For optimal results, print in the suggested orientation (flat). It is crucial to use a solid infill - if printed without solid infill, it will not bend smoothly into shape when thermoformed. This object features a large flat base, so pre-heating the bed or using BuildTak or equivalent techniques may be necessary depending on your printer's capabilities to prevent warping and peeling.
