Wrenches / Spanners
prusaprinters

I kept having to go into my toolbox and opening my wrench set to get an 8mm wrench for printer adjustments. I didn't want to buy a wrench, so I designed one, and then I decided to just design a full set.

This is a full set of wrenches from 6mm to 16mm, complete with a tray to store them.

They will seem a bit tight when slipping them over a nut or bolt, and that is intentional. They have a narrow .1mm tolerance, which is tighter than a most metal tools. I chose to make the wrenches this way to still allow them to work under pressure since, as we all know, plastic flexes more than metal.

Printing recommendations:

PLA ideal: I tried printing with PETG and the amount of flex it had made the wrenches less effective. PLA is a bit stiffer which works better for torquing.

For a crisp finish on the size writing, I recommend printing the wrenches with the size writing facing up.

100% infil so the wrench is as strong as possible

Material: PLA (Prusament in my case)

Tip: .4 mm

Layer: .2 mm

Infil: 100%

Perimeters: 2
