Wrench for a water purifier (Reverse Osmosis filter) resin tank cap
thingiverse
If you own a fish tank, especially a salt water reef aquarium, you might be using a reverse osmosis filter to purify tap water for your tank. However, I'm unaware of others, but my device arrived with a wrench to remove the fiber filter cartridges, yet none to open the resin tank - the last element in the water circulation system. Opening it can indeed be extremely challenging, and that's why I designed this wrench to help replace the resin without causing hand damage. You're welcome! Instructions I 3D printed this wrench on a dual extruder Wanhao machine. The X3G file used for printing specifies 230° on the right extruder, 110° on the bed, a 30% fill level, and 4 shells. Alternatively, I successfully printed one with 15% infill and 2 shells without encountering warping issues or struggling to remove it from the print bed. To achieve accurate fitment around the tank cap, I first printed a thin prototype with only a few layers, which resulted in a fragile, paper-like material that confirmed its suitability. I then proceeded to print the full wrench design. If you choose to create one, feel free to let me know.
