The F53.18 West A wreck showcases the remnants of a sailing ship's side, constructed using carvel planking where each plank fits closely together edge to edge. Measuring 22 meters in length with 12.5 meters exposed on the sandy seabed and 3.5 meters wide, this vessel was crafted from pine wood around the late 18th or early 19th century. The wreck's framework is oriented along a north-east to south-west axis. A total of 41 frames were identified as part of the transverse reinforcement system. Additionally, staves of internal planking and staves laid edge to edge were discovered. All structural components were fashioned from pine wood and secured with treenails and rectangular-headed metal pins.
