WPL full brushless outrunner upgrade

+++ 08.01.2019 Update +++ I made several changes to the ELO base: - Removed the holder for the ESC power cap - Enlarged the hole for the servo arm - Removed parts from the front to improve access to the servo horn screw Enjoy! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ I never saw a WPL to brushless outrunner conversion. I did it, and I'm thrilled. Here's what I used: - Ezrun 18A ESC - Jamara AL1022 - Flysky RX - HK15148B - HXT500 - 2S Lipo - Full metal driveshaft - Modified 2 speed GBX - 3D printed ELO base, wheel extension, shock mounts,… check out my profile - Modified stock shocks - Wheels filled with lead I used a "tuning" brushed motor but wanted all the advantages of a brushless motor and complex configuration options in BL ESC's (like initial/auto brake, start up modes, voltage control,...). I designed a motor adapter to fit the AL1022, reduced the shaft diameter to fit the stock pinion, and created a perfect ELO base to house all mentioned components. Check out the pictures and videos. The low speed capabilities and maximum torque are amazing. The clicking noise on one video was caused by the balance plug touching the motor. Videos show action in the first gear. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/gxntdh72xTA" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe> These components are designed for the mentioned parts. However, it's easy to use any outrunner with the same dimensions and 800-1200rpm/V using the custom motor adapter. If you like my design, feel free to offer a PayPal tip!
