WPL axle mount mod

WPL axle mount mod

thingiverse

I wanted to boost my WPL C24 crawler, so I was thinking of installing the blocks I found in Thingiverse between the axles and the axle mount/bracket. However, one of them broke down... So, I decided to design a new part that already included an extension to lower the axle (or in other words, raise the chassis and body). This is a direct replacement for the original part, and the only thing you'll need are 2.3x16mm self-tapping screws (or longer). The screws from the differential covers work just fine. You can screw the axle from bottom to top. If you want to keep the screws from top to bottom, you will need at least 20-22mm long screws for the 10mm raised suspension. I'm sharing two versions of my creation: a 10mm and a 6mm raising suspension. I tried using standard plastic linkages and they worked fine. I just had to straighten the steering linkage to the servo as it was too short. In the future, I'll try to change that since this kind of linkage causes too much bump steering (steering changing direction when the suspension is compressed). I hope this helps everyone who wants to raise the WPL Toys family and create more space for bigger wheels.
