worm + gear + reinforced with metal screw

Summary I had a big challenge ahead of me - finding a super-strong and tiny worm screw + gear kit. But I'm driven by success, and if I can help you out too, that's just the icing on the cake! The thing is, when you print a small worm gear horizontally, those teeth are super fragile, and when you print it vertically, it's the main shaft that takes the hit. So I put my thinking cap on... and designed a worm with a hole in it. Now you can add a metal screw right through the middle. This way, you've got extra stability where it counts. Instructions I print the worm screw nice and slow - half of what the usual speed is. Every single thing gets printed with 100% filling. When it comes to the worm screw and gear, I go for concentric filling pattern all the way. No support material needed here! My design is specifically made to take an 8-32 bolt - a big one at that, 2-1/2 inches long. Before you get that metal screw in place, you can drill it in first with a bit of glue to hold it steady. Then slather on some ABS plumber's glue and let it dry. That's when the magic happens - once it's dry, it's stronger than ever! Next up, take that worm screw and chuck it into a drill. Use some folded sandpaper to smooth it out. Now you're ready to assemble everything and slap on the worm stopper. One thing I wanted to point out is that there are fittings in one of the pictures - but those are just for my specific use case. You can customize the STL file however you like! One more thing: don't forget to add some bearing grease to prevent heat buildup and melting.
