Worm and Wheel Gears and Gear Box
thingiverse
A custom-made gearbox assembly is designed for the construction of light-seeking robots by my students annually. To assemble, print the plastic components, use two 1/8th inch steel rods as axels and attach a hobby motor (Kelvin.com Part #850646, $0.85). Alternatively, you can print your own worm gears and spur gears from Kelvin or purchase them with part numbers 390621 and 990179 respectively, along with wheel-gears (part #990173) for order.
