World of Warcraft Samuro

A faithful recreation of Warcraft 3's Samuro, the orcish blademaster, in the style of World of Warcraft (post Cataclysm). I aimed to replicate Blizzard's distinctive art style, which relies heavily on baked ambient occlusion and dramatic lighting from above. To achieve this, I experimented with more extensive hand-painting techniques than usual, focusing on adding intricate details to flat areas that benefit significantly from this approach – particularly noticeable in the metal panels adorning his legs. This model also served as a testing ground for an idle animation, allowing me to expand my skills in rigging and skinning. The workflow involved: Zbrush > Topogun > 3DS Max > Substance Painter.
