A few years ago, a friend introduced me to fantasy cosplay, and the conventions in Haarzuilen and Arken in the Netherlands. If you think cosplay is ridiculous... move along... check out another of the many fantastic designs on this website, because this project will push the geekiness meter of the scale. Having played World of Warcraft quite a bit, I fell in love with the Warlock class. So I came up with the idea of cosplaying a Warlock at one of the upcoming events. But what's a Warlock without a demon? Right: naked... Of all the demons a warlock can summon in WoW, I think the Imp is the coolest. However, no costume could ever match the appearance of a WoW Imp, it's simply physically impossible. So: why not create a Robot-Imp? I've been running around with this idea for quite some time now, but what pushed me over the edge is discovering the videos (and website) of James Bruton from XRobots (check out his website: http://xrobots.co.uk/). I'm starting this project at about the same time as he's beginning work on his 'Ultron' android. Since the Imp and James' Ultron share a lot of design goals, I'm sure I'll learn a lot from his videos. Obviously, this project will be in the 'WIP' state for a long time to come. And it won't just involve printed parts but also a good deal of electronics and mechanics as well. Nevertheless, I am already posting completed parts here. Both to have a central repository of them, and... I would love to hear your ideas! So don't hesitate to comment. 2019-12-15: Printed scalemodel of the Imp from exported 3D Object from WoW library files.
