World Gym Account Barcode Key Tag Holder
pinshape
A friend of mine goes to World Gym, but I don't share that same enthusiasm. They were telling me about the keychain tags at the gym with account barcodes - super flimsy and prone to damage. They get scratched easily and replacing them is expensive. My friend asked for a holder to keep their key tag safe, so I created one. This snap-together design works, but I wouldn't bet on it staying together under stress. I recommend gluing it shut with super glue - it's easy to release the key tag later if needed. I'll work on improving the snap fit in future versions. I print my designs using a FlashForge Creator Pro 3D printer. For this project, I set the printer settings as follows: no rafts or supports, and 100% linear infill. I'm lucky to have a leftover piece of granite countertop that fits over my printer table - it adds weight and stability, eliminating vibration problems. When printing thin parts, I press them against the cold granite surface to cool and flatten them quickly. After printing, you might want to glue this design shut. It snaps together, but super glue will keep it from coming apart. To assemble it, apply glue around the outside rim of the bottom piece. Then, fit the bottom inside the cover and squish them together for a minute to ensure a tight fit and remove any creaking. I designed this holder by tracing a photocopied key tag in Blender. I'll work on improving the snap-together design in future versions.
