Workshop wire rack
thingiverse
This portable rack holds eight reels of wire, providing a convenient solution for storing your inexpensive 100m rolls. Previous storage issues are resolved with this handy tool that also accommodates home-made reels, each holding up to 100 feet of wire (less for thicker varieties). Constructing the cable reels involves cutting circular end plates from 2.5mm hardboard and assembling them with PVC electrical conduit cores using hot melt glue. The rack, on the other hand, is laser-cut from 6mm MDF, with center dividers made of the same thin material. Assemble with wood glue and shellac to protect against dampness. Note that end plates and dividers have an "Up" direction, so ensure all are assembled correctly. The spindles, two lengths of 10mm dowel, are located side-to-side using rare-earth magnets and hot melt. Ignore red or blue lines on PDFs and just cut the black ones for assembly.
