Workshop 88 has upgraded its mini mill CNC conversion with limit switches, placing them directly on the DROs attached to the machine for ease of installation. The clip designed to hold the limit switches in place is specifically tailored to secure the DROs with a 4-40 socket cap screw featuring a captured lock nut. All designs - including the clip, switch models, nuts, socket cap screws, the DRO, and test pieces - were created using OpenSCAD for precise accuracy. These files are included along with this download for users to tailor their own ideal hole diameters according to their printer specifications. Workshop 88 is a collaborative maker space based in Glen Ellyn, Illinois. For more information about our projects, visit http://workshop88.com. Print Settings: Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: .2mm layer Infill: 10% Notes: Printing with six shells or walls is recommended for this design, as the current infill settings may not significantly impact performance. A raft is suggested for improved tolerance of the finished part. This helps prevent "smooshed" first layers and ensures a more precise outcome. The holes in the design are intentionally enlarged due to an observed issue with MakerWare slicer functionality - it tends to build shells into holes rather than around them. This has been reported as a bug, but it remains unaddressed by the developers at this time.
