Working Tesla Turbine
thingiverse
I design a Tesla Turbine that employs 608 bearings and features a modular shaft, enabling users to attach any tool they desire. The 608 Skate bearing is inserted into the rotor housing, followed by the rod being placed into the hole in the skate bearing. This rod serves as the exhaust for the turbine, allowing air to flow through the system. It's crucial not to block the hole on the rod, as it plays a vital role in the turbine's operation. The rod boasts one end with a custom connector I created, allowing users to connect it to gearboxes and other machinery. The intake for the turbine is situated on the rotor housing, specifically a 1cm diameter hole. All components press fit together seamlessly. I haven't measured the RPM this device can achieve, but it produces a rather intimidating noise when running at full capacity. Gears are available here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2502253 Be cautious when operating this turbine as it may shatter and send plastic shards flying. Always wear proper eye protection and safety goggles to prevent injury.
